Getting a vehicle into a workshop means dropping it off, organising a lift, and going back again. For farm machinery, a ride-on, a generator or a pump, it means loading the thing onto a trailer first. For a lot of routine maintenance, that is more hassle than the job itself.

Marx Maintenance does mobile mechanical maintenance at your place — scheduled servicing, fluid and filter changes, batteries, belts and general keeping-it-going work, on vehicles, trailers, small plant and farm machinery.

The gap around Albury, Wodonga and the rural towns is on-site servicing of the gear that is a genuine pain to move — ride-on mowers, chainsaws and other small engines, firefighting and transfer pumps, side-by-sides and small plant. Plenty of workshops service cars; almost nobody comes to the property for the mower, the chainsaw and the pump. That is exactly the work Mark is set up for.

Mobile mechanic servicing a vehicle in a driveway near Albury

What we handle on site

Ride-on & zero-turn mowers

Servicing, blade sharpening and balancing, belt replacement, deck cleaning and carburettor and fuel-system clean-outs. The machine every acreage owner relies on and nobody local services on site.

Firefighting & transfer pumps

The pump you only discover has failed when you need it most. Serviced, run under load, impellers and seals checked, and fuel systems cleaned out before fire season.

Side-by-sides, UTVs & quads

Farm side-by-sides, ATVs and quad bikes serviced on the property — oil, filters, drive belts, brakes and diffs — instead of trailering them to town.

Small engine repairs & servicing

Chainsaws, brushcutters, blowers, mowers, generators, log splitters and post-hole diggers — carburettor cleans, fuel systems, pull-starts, blades and general repairs, done on site.

Scheduled vehicle servicing

Oil and filter changes, fluid top-ups, greasing, belt and hose checks. Logbook-style routine maintenance done in your driveway.

Batteries and charging

Testing, replacement and terminal repairs. Common on vehicles that sit for weeks between uses on rural properties.

Brakes and suspension checks

Pad and rotor inspection and replacement, plus a look over bushes, shocks and steering components.

Trailer and float maintenance

Bearings repacked, brakes checked, lights and wiring repaired, couplings and safety chains inspected.

Generators & gensets

Standby generator servicing — oil, filters, run-up under load and battery checks — so it starts when the power drops out.

Pre-trip and pre-season checks

A full look-over before harvest, before fire season, or before you tow the van up the Hume.

Diagnosis and honest advice

If a job genuinely needs a hoist, a workshop or a specialist, we will tell you that rather than half-fix it.

What it costs

Mobile mechanical work is quoted up front — routine services on common vehicles and machines can usually be given a fixed price before Mark comes out, with parts and consumables at cost on top. Give us the make, model and what it needs for a price.

Questions

Mobile Mechanic Maintenance — FAQ

Do you do roadworthy certificates or pink slips?

No. Roadworthy inspections in Victoria and safety inspections in NSW must be done by a licensed vehicle tester at an approved site. We do maintenance work, not inspections — but we can get a vehicle up to scratch before you take it in.

Will you come out to a farm?

Yes, and it is a lot of what we do. Machinery maintenance on properties around Howlong, Corowa, Barnawartha and Chiltern where getting the gear to town is the hard part.

What about major repairs like engine or transmission work?

That is workshop territory. We handle servicing, wear items and general maintenance. If we open something up and find a bigger problem, you will get a straight answer about where it needs to go.

Do I need to supply the parts?

No, though you can if you prefer. Otherwise we source them and pass them on at cost with the receipt.
